About JPerlee Design

Creating digital solutions to improve communications to your audience.

Whether it's a new website or a redesign of your current site, establishing your identity with branding and social media, improving communication with your clients, or developing a marketing campaign, I can help you. I have designed sites for municipalities, businesses, education, publishers, organizations, humanitarian endeavors, sport organizations, and non-profits. It’s safe to say I've "Been There. Done That." Each project has its own special needs and issues and deserves individual attention and a custom solution.

About Me

Having graduated Rutgers University with a BA degree in Communications, (a rather broad major covering a variety of specializations!) I started out in journalism, public relations, and public information. I returned to college to study digital design and coding. I now have over 25 years of experience in digital development and design. My objective with every project is the improvement of communication with the audience. I am personally involved with your project every step of the way.

Specializing in Municipal Websites

It's important to note that there is more to a municipal website than a typical business website. A municipality's website is an extension of Town Hall. Visitors should be able to find the answer to most of their questions on the website. Online forms are expected. The target audience is the residents, with a secondary audience being visitors/non-residents. While the main focus is municipal government, many sites also include social aspects and business information. There are rules and regulations to follow and municipalities need to be cognizant of current ADA guidelines. There are items that municipal sites need to include. With 20+ years designing municipal websites, I have the experience and knowledge to guide and advise you through the process.

My first municipal website design actually came about from an educational project with the goal of improving communications between a school district and the public. The site I designed for this project eventually evolved to a township website, incorporating the municipality government, community, schools, and businesses within one website. Career change!

Improving Communications

Don't let anyone say "I didn't know!" It is important to stay in touch with your residents, clients, members, and the public. Are they aware of special events, emergencies, schedule changes, the latest news? I can help you with a communication plan, from newsletters to press releases to social media to emergency notifications, and help you navigate virtual solutions of digital presentations, online education, YouTube channels, webinars, and virtual meetings. Let me know your needs and a solution will be found for you.

Accessibility

I am an advocate of accessibility. Accessibility is forefront in my designs and development, from websites to documents to fliers to social media. An accessible website ensures that everyone, regardless of their disabilities, can access and interact with your content. Legally, accessibility is required by organizations that receive Federal funding. Accessibility helps everyone, not just the permanently disabled. If I find accessibility issues with your current online presence I can report my findings to you. Having an accessible website is not just about meeting legal requirements; it’s the right thing to do.
